| Prof. Dr. Mebrure DOĞAN
She completed her undergraduate studies at Uludağ University Faculty of Theology in 1993 and her master’s degree at Uludağ University Institute of Social Sciences in 1997 with her thesis titled “Psychological and Psychotherapeutic Effects of Prayer”. She completed her doctoral studies at Atatürk University Institute of Social Sciences in 2014 with her thesis titled “The Relationships Between Religiosity, Patience, and Psychological Well-being,” earning a doctorate in the field of Psychology of Religion. Between 1994 and 2015, she worked as a teacher of Vocational Religious Studies and Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge in secondary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. In 2015, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology of Religion at Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Theology. She became an Associate Professor in 2020 and a Professor in 2025. She also held positions such as department head, division head, and vice dean within the same faculty. She has published articles in the field of psychology of religion, presented papers at national and international symposiums, and authored books and book chapters. Her published works include “Prayer and its Psychological Effects”, “The Psychology of Patience – A Study in the Context of Positive Psychology”, “The Journey from Suffering to Virtue – Post-Traumatic Developmental Psychology and Religion”, and “The Integration of Psychology of Religion and Positive Psychology”. She is a member of the International Association for the Psychology of Religion (IAPR). She is married and has two children. |
