MISSION AND VISION
To conduct and publish original and objective research in the field of religious sciences, primarily in the Basic Islamic Sciences; to train qualified experts, imam-hatip high school vocational teachers, teachers of religious culture and ethics, and religious officials who are well-versed in Islamic Sciences, have internalized Islamic values, and possess pedagogical training; To preserve and develop our national, religious, moral, and historical values without neglecting social and cultural developments in a changing world order, parallel to scientific and technical developments; to equip our society with values that will ensure the material and spiritual development of our people constitutes the mission of our faculty.
Our faculty’s vision is to be an exemplary higher education institution in every respect, not only regionally but also nationally and internationally, which presents universal Islamic values in a manner appropriate to the needs of our era and society, within the framework of academic standards; interprets them within the context of fundamental Islamic sources and scientific logic; and, with the responsibility inherited from history, presents the knowledge, experience, and achievements it has acquired in a manner that satisfies and brings peace to society in the microcosm of the individual, and in the macro world, in a way that satisfies and brings peace to society; to be an exemplary higher education institution in every respect, not only regionally but also nationally and internationally, is the vision of our faculty.
GOALS
2025 Goals
- By the end of 2025, opening a doctoral program at Afyon Kocatepe University Institute of Social Sciences affiliated with the departments of Islamic History and Arts, Philosophy, and Religious Sciences of our Faculty, provided that the necessary conditions are met. (H.2.4)
- 2. By the end of 2025, at least 15 articles should be published or accepted for publication in journals indexed in Web of Science (WoS) or SCOPUS, and 15 articles should be published or accepted for publication in journals indexed in TR. (H.2.1)
- Increasing the impact factor of the Kocatepe Islamic Sciences journal, which began to be indexed in Web of Science (WoS) ESCI in 2024, by the end of 2025 so that it can be included among the journals indexed in SSCI and SCOPUS in the future. (H.1.3)
- By the end of 2025, teaching staff and faculty members should give coordinated sermons, participate in TV programs to enlighten the public on topics related to their field, serve as judges in competitions held in the province such as Quran recitation and call to prayer, and give public religious music concerts. (H.3.4)
- Sending 5 students to Jordan for Arabic language training under the Erasmus program in 2025. (H.1.4)
- Organizing 10 conferences and 1 bazaar in collaboration with student clubs by the end of 2025. (H.1.4)
